Excellent little ramen spot for the area. I tried the tonkotsu and it’s the most opaque and creamy broth of all the places I’ve tried in Edmonton. The broth was the star. Egg was slightly overcooked for my personal liking, yolk not runny but nice jelly-like consistency. Pork was excellent, wonderful char. The noodles were different, thinner and reminded me more of wheat noodles, didn’t the same bounce and chewiness I usually expect and appreciate - but I like how it’s different, I could see it growing on me. Service was good overall, the server was very genuine and friendly. Very chill and relaxed atmosphere. Clean and minimalistic. Would definitely go back if I’m in the area.

Easily one of Edmonton’s best hidden gems. Delicious ramen and appetizers in a small strip mall restaurant. Super friendly owner who appreciates your business serves ramen with rich flavorful broth but strangely non oily. The black garlic tonkatsu ramen is rich and creamy with lots of flavor. Char su is plentiful and smoked. Best of all, the large whole egg tastes like a Chinese 1000 year egg and had one of the best fillings I’ve ever had in ramen.

Shiawase Ramen is one of the best ramen restaurants I’ve been to. The ramen broth is incredibly creamy and packed with rich, comforting flavor. Their rice bowls are also delicious, definitely worth trying, and the bao bun is exceptionally tasty. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. This place has become our go-to spot for a satisfying meal. A hidden gem that deserves more attention!

We were looking for a new ramen place and Shiwase came up with positive reviews. I gotta say, this place is amazing! The first time we went we had the mapo tofu ramen and the black garlic tonkotsu ramen. They were both so delicious. The broth was very flavourful and the portions were just right. The chasu was really tender and delicious. I highly recommend. Especially the Black Garlic one if you don’t know what to pick, or it’s your first time having ramen. BUT, the best dish that changed my life was their Chicken Nanban. It’s rare to see nanbans so we ordered it and it was legit life changing. The chicken was really crisp and light and the sauce? It was just so delicious too. I think it’s just eggs and mayo? I couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks. We also got the bao buns and they were really good too! They hit just the right spot with a good balance of salty and sour with the pickled side and cucumbers. Our second trip I just wanted the Nanbandon and my bf got the Oyakodon. They were extremely filling but delicious. We even ordered another Nanban on the side. So I highly recommend coming to this place! And get the Nanban you won’t regret it. Plus the prices are really fair and it’s family owned. We will definitely come back again.

We’re from Calgary and we love to eat Ramen. When we searched for a good ramen place, Shiawase was the first to pop-up. With good reviews, we thought we should try. And I must say, it’s a great choice! Nice atmosphere and excellent food! I had the spicy tonkatsu Ramen and my husband had the black ramen. Both of them were delicious! So authentic taste. Bao buns are a must try as well! They’re so yummy! We also found out that the owner trained in Japan on how to make ramen and all these Japanese cuisine!

I've eaten here on 3 separate occasions and I was impressed every time. This is probably one of the best Japanese restaurants in Edmonton. So far I have tried their Kaarage, Chiashu Don ($17.00), Katsudon ($17), and Tonkatsu ($17.50). My wife has tried their Ramen and said it was very good. Out of all the dishes I have tried, their Tonkatsu is my favorite, and I would say is probably the best in YEG, as I've tried this dish at many other spots around the city. The portions are also very generous, especially for the price. The place is clean and the staff are very attentive and courteous. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in the city and an easy recommendation for anyone who even remotely enjoys Japanese food.
